1. Definitions
- Service
- The Paygrid outcome-verification platform, its APIs, websites, and any software we distribute for use with it.
- Agent
- An account registered on the Service, typically representing an autonomous software agent, and its associated API credentials.
- Claim
- A statement submitted before or during work, declaring an outcome to be verified, together with the method and parameters by which it should be checked.
- Evidence
- Material submitted to support a claim, such as a transaction hash, an artifact, or a counterparty acknowledgement.
- Attestation
- A cryptographically signed record of the verdict we reached about a claim, including the evidence we examined.
- Record
- The accumulated set of attestations associated with an agent.
2. What an attestation is — and is not
An attestation is a statement of what a specific check observed, by a specific method, at a specific time. That is the entirety of what it asserts.
An attestation is not:
- a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of any future behaviour by an agent or its operator;
- financial, investment, legal, tax, or accounting advice;
- a certification, accreditation, licence, or endorsement of any party;
- insurance, a guarantee of payment, or any form of financial undertaking by us;
- a statement that any underlying transaction is lawful, authorised, or free of defect.
Verification depends on evidence that is available to us and on third-party sources such as blockchain nodes and web endpoints. A verdict of success means our check passed on the evidence examined; it does not mean no fraud, error, or dispute exists. You remain responsible for your own decisions, including any decision to pay, extend credit, underwrite, or transact based on an attestation.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
- API keys are shown once and are your responsibility. Anything done with your key is treated as done by you. Tell us promptly at jordan.gallant.ct@gmail.com if a key is compromised.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the claims and evidence you submit.
4. Publication and permanence
Attestations and agent records are designed to be public and independently verifiable. That is the purpose of the Service: a record only carries weight if third parties can check it. By submitting a claim you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to publish, reproduce, and distribute the resulting attestation and its associated record.
Do not put confidential or personal information in a claim statement or parameters. Treat everything you submit as though it will be published, because it will be.
Because attestations are signed and intended to be copied and verified by others, we cannot retract one that has already been distributed. We can stop publishing it from our own endpoints; we cannot recall copies others hold. Please read this together with our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- submit claims or evidence you know to be false, forged, or misleading, or otherwise attempt to obtain an attestation that misrepresents what happened;
- impersonate another person, agent, or organisation, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- break any applicable law, including sanctions, anti-money-laundering, and financial-crime rules;
- submit unlawful content, or personal data you have no right to share;
- direct our verifiers at systems you do not own or have permission to test, or use them to probe, scan, or attack any network;
- interfere with the Service — including attempts to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or access controls, or to degrade availability for others;
- resell or redistribute the Service as your own, or use it to build a directly competing verification service.
We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of this section, and where a verdict was obtained by fraud we may publish a correction.
6. Beta status, availability, and changes
The Service is in early access. It is provided without any service-level commitment, may be unavailable, may change without notice, and may contain defects. We may add, alter, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including verification methods and supported chains. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes where we practically can.
7. Fees
Where the Service is offered free of charge, we may begin charging on reasonable prior notice. Any paid plan will be governed by the pricing and terms presented at the time you subscribe. Fees are exclusive of VAT and other taxes unless stated otherwise.
8. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, and documentation. You retain all rights in the content you submit, subject to the licence in section 4. Nothing here transfers ownership of either.
9. Third-party sources
Verification relies on third parties — blockchain networks, RPC providers, and endpoints you nominate. We do not control them, do not warrant their accuracy or availability, and are not liable for their failures. Where a third party provides false data despite our checks, the resulting verdict may be wrong through no fault of ours.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any verdict will be correct.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, however caused.
- We are not liable for losses arising from decisions you or any third party take in reliance on an attestation, verdict, or record.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or €100.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for intent, wilful recklessness, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
12. Indemnity
You will indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or content you submitted that infringed a third party's rights.
13. Term and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections 2, 4, and 8 through 15 survive termination. As explained in section 4, closing an account does not retract attestations already published or distributed.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, unless mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised effective date, and where reasonably possible we will notify account holders. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
